Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Depending on how you use Wing James:

• Seekers: name, email, birthday (we show only your age), ZIP code (we show only your city), how far you'd go for a date, height, occupation, optional net worth range, bio, what you're looking for, the contact handle you choose to share, photos, an intro video, and your bounty settings.
• Wingmen: your name, email, and how you know the person you introduce.
• People who are introduced (Matches): what the Wingman submits about you (first name, age, city, occupation, photos, a description, and your email and optional phone), plus the edits and contact handle you add if you approve.
• People who vouch: your name, your video, and a one-line quote.
• Everyone: the email you log in with, and basic technical information our providers log automatically, such as IP address and browser type.

We don't collect card numbers, bank account numbers or Social Security numbers. Those go directly to Stripe.

2. How we use it

• To run introductions: send approval links, show approved introductions to Seekers, share contact details after a Seeker says yes, and confirm dates.
• To handle payments: charge Seekers, hold and release bounties, refund, and pay Wingmen through Stripe.
• To send the emails the service depends on: login codes, introduction updates and payment notices.
• To keep Wing James safe: prevent fraud, spam and abuse, and enforce our Terms.

We don't sell your information or use it for advertising, and we don't send marketing email without your permission.

3. Who can see what

• A Seeker's public page (photos, video, bio, age and the other details they choose to show, and approved vouches) is visible to anyone with the link.
• A Match's details are seen only by the Wingman who submitted them, until the Match approves. After approval, the Seeker sees the approved description, photos, first name, age, city and occupation. The Match's email and phone are never shown to the Seeker.
• Contact handles are exchanged only after a Seeker says yes.
• Wingmen see the progress of their own introductions, not the Seeker's private inbox.

4. Services we use

We share information with these companies only as needed to run Wing James. They process it on our behalf:

• Supabase: database, file storage and logins.
• Vercel: hosting.
• Stripe: payments, payouts and identity checks.
• Mux: video upload and playback.
• Brevo: sending email.

We work out a city and distances from ZIP codes using GeoNames data (geonames.org), licensed under CC BY 4.0. Nothing about you is sent to GeoNames.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

5. Cookies

We use a cookie only to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

6. How long we keep it

• If a Match declines, their photos and details are deleted right away.
• Removed photos are permanently deleted within a day.
• Payment records are kept as long as tax and financial laws require.
• Everything else is kept while your account is active, and deleted when you ask us to delete it, except for limited copies in backups for a short time or where the law requires us to keep it.

7. Your choices and rights

You can see and edit most of your information in your account. Email hello@wingjames.com to get a copy of your information, correct it, or delete it. If you were introduced and never approved, you can ask us to delete what was submitted about you. We'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we'll honor them.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Introductions' photos are stored privately and shown only through short-lived links. Access to the database is limited to the site's server. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a secure email account, since that's how you log in.

9. Children

Wing James is for adults only. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think we have, email us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and, where we have your email, let you know.
